This session is for tutors with an active listing on findAtutor.ca.

I get asked for information on what it is that listing points do, and how to use them. In short, listing points determine what order the search results appear in. Optimizing how to use points to get your listing higher in the list using the minimum amount of points can be confusing if you aren't sure what's going on. I'll guide you through where to find the information and determine what is the best for you, and get you using listing points like a pro!

I'm going to do these sessions a little bit differently, instead of me demonstrating by sharing my screen, I will get you to share your screen, and I'll point out where to go and what to enter so you have first hand experience doing it yourself! So keep in mind when you sign up for the session that you want to join using a device that you would normally login to findAtutor.ca, I recommend a computer, laptop or tablet/iPad. Although findAtutor.ca is made mobile-ready, it's harder to edit and use forms on a phone.

I'll also happily answer any other questions beyond listing points. If I don't have the answers, we can at least have a conversation and share ideas.

About me:

I'm the owner and administrator of findAtutor.ca. I'm also a math tutor. I've been tutoring since 2001 and created findAtutor.ca in 2003 as a means to advertise my (and other tutor's) services on-line.

I've always done all tutoring in-person...until March 2020. I pivoted to on-line tutoring and that went much better than I expected. With the launch of "sessions" in September 2020, in addition to having a tutor listing, I also schedule sessions on findAtutor.ca.

Being a user, in addition to administering, gives me insight into the inner workings of findAtutor.ca, and will share with you tips to make the most of using findAtutor.ca!
