Have you been doing in-person tutoring and wondering how is on-Line tutoring even possible? I was the same!

Out of my sessions covering how to use "sessions" on findAtutor.ca, I was finding most tutors were actually wondering how to do on-line tutoring. They wondered how I demonstrated math on a computer screen.

In this session I'll be using Zoom, discussing it's pros and cons, and addressing some concerns that you may have heard about in the media. I like Zoom because there is very little required for the invitee to join the meeting.

I'm not an expert, but I will demonstrate what I use. Participating tutors are welcome to share their own ideas, what has and hasn't worked for them. I've gotten helpful tips from the tutors joining in.

Together we'll figure it out, and hopefully get you going with on-line tutoring!

About me:

I'm the owner and administrator of findAtutor.ca. I'm also a math tutor. I've been tutoring since 2001 and created findAtutor.ca in 2003 as a means to advertise my (and other tutor's) services on-line.

I've always done all tutoring in-person...until March 2020. I pivoted to on-line tutoring and that went much better than I expected.

In March 2019, I replaced my old whiteboard with an iPad pro and a TV screen. Moving to digital notes was transformative to my tutoring business, and thought that it would be trivial to use it for on-line tutoring. It wasn't as intuitive as I first thought, but I've developed a system that works very well for me and my students, and feels almost the same as meeting a student in-person.
