Grade 9 math - multiplication and division of rational numbers
Rational numbers are fractions, also frequently expressed as decimals. I'll go over rational numbers in general, and what exactly makes a number rational, how to determine if a number is rational, and different ways of expressing rational numbers.
I'll show how to multiply fractions, and how to reduce before multiplication to make calculating easier.
I'll also go over the algorithm for manually multiplying and dividing decimals. Although unlikely you'll need them much as calculators are usually permitted for basic calculations, reviewing the algorithm (steps needed to take) is a good reminder when it'll need to be applied to algebraic expressions.
Time permitting, I'll answer any other grade 9 math question you may have. Include a note in your registration, or have it handy for the start of the session.
